juya gaze

‘Juya Gaze' - a collaborative venture between streetwear brand M.R.L.C and Geckor. This project is an artistic exploration of two Scottish-born brands, grown by two creatives with Caribbean and African heritages.

'Juya': a word translating to 'spinning' or 'turning' from the widely spoken Nigerian language - Hausa. The collaboration title is a reference to the distinguishable brand imagery of Geckor's spiralling eyes and M.R.L.C's native background. This series of works infuses Geckor's vibrant and positive pop imagery in amongst the historical African culture that is focal in M.R.L.C's clothing line.
